The University of La Guajira, through the Graduate Center, signed a business collaboration agreement with the Santander Transport Cooperative (Copetran), through which special conditions were established for the provision of ground transportation services for the university community.
The agreement consists of offering commercial discounts on all the company’s services to graduates, administrators, teachers, general service personnel and surveillance of the Alma Mater. It is contemplated that a 6% discount will be applied on tickets for administrative staff, 40% in low season for graduates and 15% in high season such as mid-year and end-of-year vacations, school break weeks and bank holidays.
The benefited estates must meet minimum requirements such as responding to the graduate app survey found on the institutional page and presenting their physical and/or virtual ID when accessing financial aid.
Humberto Pacheco Maya, manager of business agreements for Uniguajira, indicated that the alliance will be in force for a term of one year. “We seek that the population of university graduates and administrators access the service provided by the company Copetran, obtaining special discounts on ground transportation tickets to all cities in Colombia. It is our aim to continue working in an articulated manner for much longer”.
For his part, the manager of Copetran in the Riohacha District, Heriberto Andrés Varela Baquero, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement and highlighted the benefits of the company, the state of its vehicles, the hours for users to use them and comply with their expectations.
Jorge Cotes Pérez, a graduate of the International Business Program at the University of La Guajira, specified that “these services are of great help to promote the culture of family travel. It is also very useful for the personnel of the institutional headquarters that are constantly moving from one municipality to another”.
With this type of initiative, the university contributes to the economic and social development of the department, and also hopes to continue strengthening ties with its graduates, managing new projects for the benefit of the academic community.
